For cross-border e-commerce sellers on Amazon, Walmart, Shopify and other platforms, managing cost-effective, fast and reliable shipments from China to US Amazon FBA warehouses is critical to inventory turnover, cash flow health and customer delivery experience. Whether you are a manufacturer, brand retailer or small-to-medium seller testing new products, mastering Amazon’s new GWD (Global Warehousing and Distribution) solution can greatly optimize your China-to-US supply chain.

On April 15, 2026, Amazon officially launched its first global GWD warehouse in Shenzhen for Chinese sellers, enabling local warehousing, intelligent allocation and direct restocking to US FBA with simplified logistics and lower overall costs.

In this guide, we break down how to use Amazon GWD Shenzhen to ship from China to US FBA, covering core functions, service model, fees, restrictions and industry impact.

1,What is Amazon GWD Shenzhen & Core Functions

Amazon GWD Shenzhen is Amazon’s first origin-side global warehousing and distribution center, allowing sellers to store inventory in bulk in China and allocate to US FBA on demand.

  • Warehouse costs reduced by up to 45% vs. US local warehouses
  • Cross-border transit time shortened by up to 7 days

Key benefits:

  • Lower overall costs and less overseas inventory pressure
  • Faster restocking and smarter inventory control
  • Flexible small-batch storage for product testing
  • One-stop AGL logistics with fewer vendors to manage
  • AI auto-replenishment launching in April 2026

Current scope: Only for US FBA restocking; other marketplaces and large items not yet supported.

2,Service Model & How It Works

Sellers only need to deliver goods to the Shenzhen GWD warehouse. Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) handles customs clearance, international shipping and FBA delivery in full.

  • AGL account registration is required
  • Manual restocking available now; auto-replenishment rolling out in April 2026
  • Real-time tracking and allocation through Seller Central

3,Official Fee Structure

  • Warehousing: $8.79 per cubic meter per month
  • Inbound handling: $0.20 per carton
  • Outbound handling: $0.30 per carton
  • Inbound export customs declaration: $50 per shipment
  • Outbound export filing: $0.10 per carton AGL freight is charged separately; US FBA fees are not included.

6,Cost-Saving & Compliance Tips

  • Compare AGL rates and avoid peak seasons
  • Consolidate orders to lower per-unit costs
  • Use Seller Central’s cost calculator before shipping
  • Prepare full customs documents and follow FBA packaging rules
  • Plan cash flow for US duties not covered by GWD

7,Industry Impact

Amazon GWD Shenzhen directly challenges traditional freight forwarders and overseas warehouses, driving industry consolidation, greater supply chain transparency for sellers and faster compliance across the cross-border logistics sector.

Things you should know before send your cargo to GWD:

  • GWD’s warehouse is a customs-supervised warehouse leased in Yantian, Shenzhen. Once goods enter the warehouse, they cannot be withdrawn from the warehouse at will.
  • Access to GWD’s warehouse requires advance time reservation via the WeChat Mini Program, and trucks must deliver the goods to the warehouse punctually within the reserved time slot.
  • GWD’s warehouse does not provide FNSKU labeling or GWD labeling services. Therefore, all goods must have the required labels fully affixed before being delivered to the warehouse.
  • The truck must carry only your goods and no goods from other sellers. When the truck departs the warehouse, it must be completely empty with no goods remaining on board.

Conclusion

GWD Shenzhen creates a leaner, faster, lower-cost China-to-US FBA supply chain. By understanding its functions, fees, rules and industry influence, sellers can greatly improve efficiency and competitiveness.
